5-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-Triphenyl-21,23H-Porphine is an asymmetric free-base porphyrin bearing a single hydroxyl substituent used in the synthesis of porphyrin conjugates, surface-immobilized biosensors, and metalloporphyrin catalysts relevant to insecticide mechanism research. The single hydroxyl group enables selective conjugation chemistry allowing construction of porphyrin-based insecticide detection platforms. This compound is studied in photodynamic crop protection research for generation of singlet oxygen toxic to insect pests.
